CONTRACT MANUFACTURING: MEETING TODAY’S INDUSTRY DEMANDS

Chino, CA.   PakLab steps out of the mold in contract manufacturing with a brand of services that sets a new standard in the cosmetic, personal care and OTC industry. The idea is not new, but the menu of services and the clients that it hopes to attract are certainly a first: Concept development, brand architecture and formulation, flawlessly transitioned into scale up manufacturing and filling all under the same roof. Complete turnkey, targeted to attract medium and large companies seeking to benefit not only from the timeline and the initial product development savings, but also to streamline their supply chain management in production.

The concept took two years to be fully developed and implemented at a company level, but it was not without a thorough investigation of market demands, competencies building through qualified staffing, and the culmination of a major facility upgrade.  Differentiating PakLab from other contract manufacturers has always been important throughout the 30 year history of the company (which still maintains its original corporate name under Universal Packaging Systems).

Through a desire to be flexible enough to create and manufacture brands for their clients, as well as collaborate with Fortune 100 companies in the development of new products, the Leadership was inspired to develop a well trained sales team covering East to West as a gateway to these services, fusing core competencies and positioning PakLab as a full turnkey company.

This concept was branded as element•4 skin science studio.  In fact, the new infrastructure puts PakLab at the forefront of the industry. Packaging and graphic design, product development, process modernization and new filling capabilities like bag on valve aerosols and flexible film for specialty products are just some of the beginning steps in their complete image reset.

The era of selling contract manufacturing simply on tank capacity, equipment capabilities or line speed seems to have crowded the field in the last 10 years.  PakLab took notice by focusing their vision on a new horizon, and the entrepreneurial spirit that it took to become the new standard to be followed by the competition.
